I am here. First time on southern hemisphere. In the country of coffee, samba and good football. 12 hours in the plane didn’t make me as tired as I thought. So, I'm just over the mid-way point of my volunteering placement here and already I feel I have learnt and gained much more than I ever could have imagined. Of course like all long-term volunteering placements, it hasn't all been a bed of roses but I'm am, in a strange way and of course in retrospect, grateful for the tough times as not only have they given me an opportunity to get a better understanding of myself but they have made the good times…
